Overview
Our signature journey and the reason Go Round Africa exists: a week of genuine service alongside Kenyan partners we work with all year — schools, churches, children’s programs and health outreaches — followed by three days in the Masai Mara to rest, reflect and celebrate. Every project is community-requested, child-protection compliant, and designed so your team joins work that continues long after you fly home.
Day 1 — Arrive Nairobi. Airport welcome, dinner and orientation: culture, language basics, safety and our ethics guidelines. Overnight Nairobi. Day 2 — Travel to the community & welcome. Drive to our partner community [Nyeri County]. An official welcome you will never forget — song is involved — then a walking tour of the project site and planning session with local leaders. Day 3–6 — Service days. Mornings on the project your team matched to: classroom construction or renovation, teaching and literacy support, vacation Bible school, sports ministry, or medical outreach support (licensed professionals only for clinical tasks). Afternoons are for relationship: home visits, shared meals, football, a coffee-farm afternoon with a local family. Evenings: team debrief and devotions. Day 7 — Worship & farewell. Sunday service with the local congregation — consistently named the trip’s most moving moment — followed by a farewell celebration and honest closing conversation with partners about what comes next. Day 8 — To the Masai Mara. Depart with full hearts for the Great Rift Valley; afternoon game drive in golden light. Day 9 — Full Mara day. Dawn drive among lions and elephants, picnic by the Mara River, optional Maasai village visit — a cultural full-circle to end the week. Day 10 — Return & depart. Final sunrise drive, then Nairobi for evening flights home.
Cost includes: all airport transfers and ground transport, 9 nights vetted accommodation, all meals, project coordination and materials facilitation, dedicated trip leader and translator, cultural orientation, Mara park fees and game drives, bottled water, 24/7 in-country support. Cost excludes: international flights, eTA/visa, required travel insurance, project donation (agreed transparently with partners in advance), tips, personal spending.
Our ethics, in writing: no unvetted access to children, no orphanage tourism, photography only with consent, local labor and local purchasing prioritized, and projects requested by the community — not invented for visitors. Ask us for our full child-protection policy; we’re proud to share it.

- How much does a Kenya mission trip cost per person? In-country costs typically run [$XX–$XXX] per person per day depending on group size and season, plus flights and a project contribution — we provide a transparent per-person budget your team can fundraise against, with support letters included.
- Is it safe for a church team, including teenagers? We operate only in communities we know personally, with vetted lodging, experienced drivers, a dedicated trip leader and 24/7 support; minors are welcome with guardians and our child-protection protocols apply to everyone.
- We have no construction skills — can we still serve? Absolutely. Teaching, children’s programs, sports, music, encouragement and simply showing up matter as much as bricklaying — we match projects to the actual skills your team brings.
- How far ahead should a team book? Six to twelve months, which allows fundraising, flights at good prices and proper planning with our partners.
