Overview
There is one photograph every safari-goer wants: elephants crossing dusty plains with the snows of Kilimanjaro floating behind them. Amboseli is where that photograph lives. Home to some of Africa’s largest tuskers and studied elephant families who tolerate vehicles calmly, Amboseli offers intimate elephant encounters no other park can match.
Day 1 — Nairobi to Amboseli
Depart Nairobi at 7:30 AM through Maasai country, arriving by early afternoon. After lunch, your first game drive: elephants at the swamps, zebra and wildebeest on the plains, and — if the clouds are kind — your first sight of Kilimanjaro at sunset. Overnight: [lodge/camp], dinner included.
Day 2 — Full day with the elephants
Kilimanjaro shows herself best at dawn, so we’re out early for the classic shot. Spend the day among Amboseli’s famous elephant families, flamingo-dotted swamps and Observation Hill, whose summit view explains the park in one panorama. Picnic lunch in the park. All meals included.
Day 3 — Dawn drive & return to Nairobi
A final early game drive in the best light, breakfast, and the drive back to Nairobi, arriving mid-afternoon. Combines perfectly with our Masai Mara Classic for a 7-day Kenyan highlight reel — ask us to stitch them together.

- Will I definitely see Mount Kilimanjaro? The mountain hides in cloud by mid-morning most days, which is why our itinerary prioritizes dawn drives — the clearest window. Dry-season months give the best odds.
